Blaise Pascal : International Research Chairs

These International Chairs are prestigious fellowships awarded by the State and the Ile-de-France Region and managed by the foundation of the École Normale Supérieure.

The closing lecture of the Blaise Pascal International Research Chair, held by Professor Stephen Ridgway (NASA Headquarters, Washington D.C., USA) at the Observatoire de Paris for two years, took place last May 30. Under the presidency of Bertrand Landrieu, Préfet of the Ile-de-France Region and Préfet of Paris, and Jean-Paul Huchon, President of the Ile-de-France Regional Council, S. Ridgway delivered his talk “US plans for coronography and interferometry”. The public lecture “Dark Matter and Dark Energy in the Universe”, closing the stay of Avishai Dekel (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) at the Paris Institute of Astrophysics (IAP) and the Observatoire de Paris, was presented on 23 June at the IAP’s lecture hall.
